it don't matter what you use to play them but what you use to rip the clips. sometime DVD2AVI works and sometimes it don't as a back up i have Virtual Dub as well....I upload with DVD Shrink then open the file in either of the 2 programs i mentioned. I then go through frame by frame although it does go faster then it sounds and i rip however many clips i want or need.
When you save them in DVD2AVI make sure you choose the microsoft MPEG 4 compression or wmm wont open them...there is 2 options for this i pick the one just under "No Compression"
Open WMM and it's a tempermental bitch lol sometimes it freezes and you have to start over...
Over to the left you see a list of things to do...Import video, import pictures...ect...
Select import video find your first avi clip and select it. It loads n the white space between the left side options and the black screen. if you look down along the bottom you will see either timeline view or storyline...If storyline is selected you just see boxes if timeline is selected you see video and audio. Swtich to storyline view if it isn't already on it by clicking on the spot where it says timeline.
go back to the avi you imported and drag it down into the first box. Go back to import video and repete thsi step till they are all in the boxes. You can move them around by clicking the mouse and dragging them to a different box.
Between each box is a section for transitions how you want the frames to move from one to the other. On the left hand side again you can see a option video transitiond. Select what you want to use and drag it into the little boxes between the frames..Note sometimes they wont go in but that's alright.
on the bottom left corner of each fram is a star what you do with them is on the left side in the options again you see video effects this is where you'd drag the effect you want that frame to have..
Back on the left side select import audio. choose your song and when it loads go back to the spot where you selected storyline view and go back to timeline. drag the song down underneith the video..Does the viideo fit the song? if not add more clips.
You can add titles to certain frames and end credits openeing titles pretty much evertything is right there on the left side.
Took me awhile to get the hang of it and mixing my own music.....woa wont get into that till your ready...
If the video is too long for the song you can shorten clips by selecting them in timeline view when you get the red arrow just drag it to the left or right left to shorten right to make longer unless you are on the begining of the clip then it's vise versa...
hope that helped out and made some sense....
Once you have all the avi's saved
